Getting paid with Stripe
Connect your own Stripe account so renters pay you directly, with 0% commission. Take payments by card, payment link, saved card or cash, and refund from the booking.
Overview
RentHive uses Stripe Connect. You connect your own Stripe Express account, and renters' payments go straight into it. RentHive takes no commission and adds no fee. Stripe charges its usual card fees on your account.
Renters pay by card at checkout on your website or booking widget. From a booking you can also send a payment link, charge a card kept on file, or record cash. Refunds go back through Stripe from the same place.
Payouts to your bank follow your Stripe account's schedule. The Overview page shows your recent payouts, and Stripe's dashboard has the rest.

How it works
- 1
Connect Stripe
Go to Settings → Integrations → Stripe Payment and press Manage, then Connect Stripe. You're taken to Stripe to sign in or create an account.
- 2
Finish Stripe's setup
If the card says Setup incomplete, press Finish setup and give Stripe the details it asks for. Card payments work once the card shows Connected.
- 3
Take a payment on a booking
On the booking page, under Payments & deposit, press Record cash, Charge a card or Send a payment link. Choose Everything owed, Choose lines or An amount.
- 4
Send a payment link
Leave Email the link to the renter switched on and press Create the link. The renter opens a secure Stripe page and pays. In the Inbox, Request a payment sends the same thing as a card in the chat.
- 5
Charge a card on file
Cards on file are kept by Stripe, never by RentHive. A card is kept when the renter pays and the booking may need charging later, such as for a deposit hold or a change. You can also press Add a card. Press Charge a card to charge it without the renter present.
- 6
Refund
In the payment list, press Refund on a card payment or Mark refunded on a cash one. Leave the amount empty to refund all of it, or enter part of it, and add a reason if you like.
- 7
Offer pay on arrival
Settings → Integrations → Cash Payment holds the Allow pay on arrival (cash) switch. Until Stripe is connected, pay on arrival is the only option on your website.
- 8
Check payouts
The Payouts card on Overview lists your latest payouts. View All and Open Stripe dashboard take you to your Stripe Express dashboard.

What's automated

- Payment links show as Waiting until paid. Press Check for payment to look right away.
- Price differences from renter changes are charged or refunded on card bookings, following your change and cancellation rules.
