Overview
Locations are the places a car is picked up and returned: your lot, an airport, a hotel. Each one can be for pickup and drop-off, pickup only or drop-off only, with its own price and opening hours. At checkout, renters choose where they'd like it from the car's locations.
Booking rules decide which trips renters can book on their own: the minimum and maximum days, the driver's age range, how much notice you need, and the gap you keep between trips for cleaning. Set them once in SettingsGeneral and change them for any car on its Rules tab.
Advance notice and the trip buffer only stop renters. When your team books a trip in the dashboard, they show as warnings you can go past.

Step by step7
- 1
Add a location
In SettingsCompany, under Company locations, press Add location. Name it, search the address, and choose Available for: Pickup & dropoff, Pickup only or Dropoff only.
- 2
Price it
Enter a Location price if renters pay to pick up or return here, like an airport fee. Leave it empty if it's free. The same place for pickup and return is charged once.
- 3
Set its hours
Press Set operating hours and choose Open 24/7, or opening and closing times for each day, marking days you're closed. Your website shows them.
- 4
Choose each car's locations
On a vehicle's Overview tab, the Pickup & dropoff card has a switch for each location. Your first location is the default, and new cars start with it.
- 5
Set the default booking rules
In SettingsGeneralDefault booking rules, set Minimum days, Maximum days (0 for no maximum), the driver's minimum and maximum age, Advance notice in hours and Trip buffer in hours. Add your rental rules in the box below and press Save changes.
- 6
Set pickup and return times per car
On a vehicle's Rules tab, switch off Use company defaults in Booking rules to set its own days, ages, notice, buffer and pickup and return times.
- 7
Pause a location
Press Pause on a location to stop offering it, and Go live to bring it back. A car whose locations are all paused can't be booked.
Best practices
- Set a trip buffer of a few hours so there's always time to clean and inspect between renters.
- Use advance notice to stop last-minute bookings you can't prepare for, like 12 or 24 hours.
- Add airport or hotel handovers as their own locations with a price, rather than changing the car's rate.
- Write your rental rules (smoking, pets, fuel, tolls) in the rental rules box. Renters see them on each car's page.
Good to know
- Delivery to a renter's own address isn't built. Offer fixed places instead.
- Opening hours are shown to renters and warned about in the dashboard, but website checkout doesn't refuse times outside them. Say so in your rental rules if it matters.
- Location prices count as booking fees: they can be taxed under Booking fee or Total, and coupons don't discount them.
- Deleting a location removes it from your cars. Bookings that used it keep it.
What runs on its own
- Renters only see dates and lengths your rules allow, and only the locations their car offers.
- Bookings keep the rules they were made under.
- Your first location becomes the default, and new cars start with it.
Questions
Can a renter pick up at one place and return at another?
Yes, if the car offers both locations. Each place's price is charged once.
Can I set a minimum age of 25?
Yes. Set the driver's minimum age in the booking rules, for the company or one car.
Can I book a car outside a location's opening hours?
Yes. The dashboard warns you that the time is outside the location's hours, but you can still confirm.
