Booking calendar & Turo sync

How the drag-and-drop calendar works, how Turo/Google/Apple sync prevents double-bookings, and how to block dates.

6 min read

Overview

Your booking calendar is a drag-and-drop timeline across your whole fleet, with a month view available for a closer look at a single vehicle. It's connected to Turo, Google Calendar, and Apple Calendar: Turo bookings flow in automatically and block those dates on your calendar and direct booking widget, while Google and Apple Calendar sync two-way, so a block made on either side shows up everywhere.

Underneath the calendar is a booking status system that only ever moves forward: a booking goes from pending to confirmed to active to completed. Cancelled is the one dead end, once a booking is cancelled, it can't be reopened, it stays in your history as a cancelled record rather than being deleted.

The drag-and-drop booking timeline, synced across every connected calendar.

How it works

  1. 1

    Connect your calendars

From settings, connect your Turo calendar and, if you use them, Google Calendar and Apple Calendar. Each shows a sync status once connected.

  2. 2

    View your fleet

Use the timeline view to scan your whole fleet at once, or switch to month view to focus on a single vehicle's schedule in more detail.

  3. 3

    Move or resize a booking

Drag a booking to new dates, or drag its edge to extend or shorten the stay, directly on the timeline.

  4. 4

    Block dates

Block any vehicle for maintenance, personal use, cleaning, off-season, or owner stay, for a single vehicle or in bulk across several at once.

  5. 5

    Watch the sync status

Each connected calendar shows whether it's currently synced. Reconnect immediately if it shows anything else.

Best practices

  • Reconnect a calendar right away if its sync status ever shows anything other than synced, a stuck sync is the most common cause of a vehicle looking unavailable when it isn't (or vice versa).
  • Use bulk blocking when the same maintenance window applies to more than one vehicle, instead of blocking each one individually.
  • Use the timeline view for fast visual scanning across your fleet, and the month view when you need finer detail on one vehicle.

Things to keep in mind

  • A booking can't be created, or edited, into dates that overlap an existing confirmed, active, or pending booking, or an availability block.
  • Booking status only moves forward: pending → confirmed → active → completed. Cancelled is terminal and can't be reopened.
  • Cancelling a booking never deletes it. It's kept as a cancelled record so your history and reporting stay complete.

What's automated

  • A booking made on Turo blocks the same dates on your direct calendar and booking widget automatically. Google and Apple Calendar sync two-way, so a block made on either side shows up everywhere.
  • A booking's price recalculates automatically any time its dates, vehicle, or guest count change.

Common questions

What happens if a vehicle gets booked on Turo while I'm using RentHive?

Turo bookings are pulled into RentHive automatically, so as soon as a Turo reservation comes in, those dates are blocked on your direct calendar and booking widget too, preventing a guest from booking the same vehicle through your site.

Can I move a booking to a different vehicle?

Yes, from the booking detail view you can reassign it to a different vehicle in your fleet, as long as the new vehicle is free for those dates.
